My name is Julio, but in the sailing world, everyone knows me as “El Vasco.” Since childhood, the sea has been my Code Playground and my greatest teacher. I learned to read the wind before I could read a book, and I’ve never stopped sailing since. I’ve crossed the Caribbean, explored the eastern coasts of South America, and sailed all the way to Europe. I even crossed the Panama Canal aboard my loyal Gulfstar 43, “Southern Star”—my floating home and companion on countless adventures.

Over the years, I’ve taught sailing to people of all ages, sharing not just techniques, but also the respect and passion that life on the water demands. Every journey has taught me something new—from the calm of a starry night at sea to the adrenaline of facing an unexpected storm.

Sailing Religion was born from that blend of passion, learning, and the search for true community. I wanted to create more than just a clothing brand: a space where sea lovers could recognize each other, find inspiration, and feel part of a global crew.
